After checking this http://www.truefootballmanager.com/2011/03/football-manager-2012.html i decided to write about my personal thoughts.
Generally i can tell that FM 11 is very good. It is very close to reality but there are certainly some improvemets that can be done.
I won’t talk about better graphics in 3d match, or better sounds etc.
I want to state a few things.
- One thing i can tell is unrealistic is the players scoring effectiveness and some movements. It really pisses me off when a player is face to face with the opponent goalkeeper and he just shoots the ball in his body without even making a dribble or something to make his job easier. I also have noticed that sometimes when a winger runs with a ball even if he is outside the area to the left or right (i mean in a not suitable shooting position) , instead of making a cross to the striker or somebody in the area , he shoots the ball . Of course the ball goes widely out . I have also noticed an unrealistic movement in defence .Your opponents are attacking . Then a midfielder of them makes a pass to the striker and your defender instead of marking the striker who runs to the ball , he comes closer to the player who passed. So the striker has the space to be face to face with the goalkeeper. Fortunately for me (as i explained) he misses it many times . haha…
- Another fact i would like to be changed is about transfers. I would like to see feelings play a role in a player’s decision to sign for a club. For example you ll never get Drogba with Marseille even though in real life he would be interested in joining his favorite team. Money will also be an important factor. Specially in older ages player’s must be more interested in joining for example a team from Russia or Ukraine that have big amounts of money.
- Finances : Apart from teams in the big leagues , teams in Russian or Ukrainian does not have money to spent after the 1st season. In real life Rubin , Shakhtar , Zenit , Anzhi etc have some tycoon chairmans and have really spent much much money for transfers . In fm you must be really carefull with your finances in order to have to spent a lot with a team from these countries.
The above where some improvements needed in my oppinion in the next FM.
Now i ll write about a thought i have . I hope it looks interesting to you :
So,
You all should have certainly noticed that in your profile–>history menu fm informs you about total carreer earnings (money you ve earned as manager)
My idea is this : How would it be if those money can be used in something extremely interesting in the game? Until now even if you are paid 300K per week and you have earned 100M as a manager there is nothing you can do.
I dont talk about cars, family ,houses ,holidays etc. Imagine how would it be if you could invest those money in the football world . If you could buy a small team from your country with an estimated value of 1 M. Then you ll be the chairman of that team. You ll be able to aproached managers for your team, sack them if they are not doing well. Invest your money in generally improving the team. Build a stadium ,improve facilities, sign contracts with sponsors and of course give money to your team’s manager to spend on transfers. Wouldnt it be something GREAT? being a chairman with the money you ve earned and make your own team famous in the world?

the clubs and the players have “FAVOURITES”, and they ARE more willing to sign to those clubs, so that thing does already exist in the game

sibo i totally agree…those team talks you be really realistic and great…and it would be even better if you can inform your players about that in middle game..for example in a sub time…

I would just like more options for team talks, where I am now in the season I just find myself saying “For the fans” a lot and that will not be very effective. I would prefer stuff like:
“Grab the goal then close it down.”
“Just see out the game, all we need is a point”
“Don’t take your foot off for a moment!”

There is another problem: some young players don’t increase their stats. They has good potential (like Griesmann from Sosiedad in my game) but the don’t improve the stats.
Also the manager don’t care about the future of their team. They would better spend the money on transfers but they wouldn’t give young players some piece of practice in games with outsiders…

I think that there is another one problem with Championships which has the rule for limit of foreign players.
Here is example, I’ve included in my game Ukrainian Championship. There is the limit: you can not have more than 6 or 7 foreigners in your squad but I could buy every player I want. I can solve this problem. But my opponents can’t. And it’s uneasy that, for example, Dynamo Kyiv buys weak players from Ukraine and sells the leaders from other countries ’cause they have 7 foreigners in the team! Only 3-4 of them in main squad…
But Russian teams(Russian Chmp isn’t included in my game) could buy very powerful players and in Eurocups there is only my Shakhtar wins the points to the table of European countries’ coefficients for Ukraine.

I agree with everything you said, I think extra team talk options and the ability to easily see the effect your team talk has on the players during the break would be good too

i’m agree with everything you wrote, but about the football chairman thing, it make felt like FIFA Manager which i hate, it would be better if we can invest the money we earned to open youth academic around the globe then we can affiliate them with the club we managed. and if the striker miss a lot of easy scoring chances, i think at least he need to show some significant improvement after we arranged a proper training from them etc hie will become more composure when 1 on 1 with the gk after finishing training provided to him.

a better idea is to have more option for your youth facilities..

I don’t know how I feel about being a chairman of a club while managing another. I do feel earning money at the moment in the game is a bit of a farce, but ya know I’m cool with that as well.
However i did have an idea and I’ll share before I break it in my own head
I’ve heard ideas floated around the place of Clubs setting up an academy in different countries. What about setting one up yourself, independent of any club, you could invest in it, hire coaches for it, sign its players for any team you are managing etc etc.

Croy, that miss was a one off, in FM players miss easy chances WAY too often. Decrease the number of chances created, increase the likelihood of scoring 1v1s. That’s all I want, although you have made some good suggestions Orestis

A manager does handle training (he coordinates it at least), a manager sends scouts to find players. Ok, maybe a manager doesn’t ask for a stadium, but he does a lot of things in a club, things that we do in FM.
I’ve seen some amazing strikers miss incredible chances. How about Shevchenko in UCL final in 2005? He missed like from 1m, if he’d scored Milan would’ve taken the trophy (Not that I’m complaining neing a Liverpool fan). This things happen’

i would be a nice option to be a chairman…
you cant say it s not football chairman…in this way you must say : it s not football trainner it is not football scouter it is not football “ask board for new stadium”….i would be a great option..
about the chances…what i see in a game sometimes is not realistic….they can reduce the chances..ok..but i dont want to see face to face chances missed like a 3 year old boy shoots the ball…

About the chairman stuff: the idea was vehiculated before, I don’t like Fifa Manager, and like someone said: this is football manager, not football chairman
About the strikers missing chances: i think Si got this one right. It’s not like we have problem scoring. If they increase the number of chances converted to goals we’d have an unrealistic number of goals. They will have to decrease the number of chances in place. But they got it right. The ration of chances/goals is pretty much close to real life.
Of course there are things that could improve, but as far as the ME is concerned, they got it right in this edition.
As for finances, they are close to reality in most cases. Don’t know about Russia, never managed there, maybe they need a better researcher there

All you have wrote is completely true, and the chairman part is something i experienced on FIFA Manager 11, wasnt as detailed as you said, basically you owned a club, but you had to manage that club, but it was a lot of fun, and id love to see that brought in to FM, cos after a few season i hate it cos its full of regens, none of the current players we have now, so after say 5,6 seasons i’d love the oppurtunity to become a chairman, that way regens wouldnt bother me because id own my own club lol

I think you are right about everything you wrote,but it doesnt’t matter becouse a lot of people have stoped using FM Crowd so this post is probably going to comment 5-6 people. Probably me,dan,bosnian and a few others…
